Process and timetable

The setting of consumer prices for water companies is a rigorous and lengthy process that involves many different organisations.

Key deadlines

There are a number of key deadlines that must be met until final water prices are set by Ofwat for the period 2010-2015.

March 2008 - following consultation, Ofwat published its approach to the 2009 price review.
April 2008 - we submitted our initial National Environment Programme to water companies for consideration as part of their draft business plans.
August 2008 - water companies submitted draft business plans to Ofwat. See our PR09 Draft Business Plan review (PDF, 65KB)
Autumn 2008 to Spring 2009 - Ofwat, ourselves and other stakeholders reviewed draft business plans.
November 2008 - we submitted our final National Environment Programme to water companies, for inclusion in their final business plans. See details of the final National Environment Programme.
April 2009 - companies submitted final business plans.
July 2009 - Ofwat consulted on draft price limits. Ofwat published its Draft Determination on 23 July 2009. Read our response to this consultation.
November 2009 - Ofwat sets the final price limits for 2010-2015.
