We are working on practical ways to reduce the regulatory burden and promote biomass use.

Apply for a permit

We regulate the burning of biomass in appliances with a rated thermal input of 50 MW or above. In the case of biomass that is classified as waste we regulate appliances with a rated thermal input of 3 MW or above.
