Intensive farming compliance

We will inspect your farm at least once a year when we have issued your permit.

We will check that you are meeting the conditions in your permit and following any improvement plans. An annual subsistence charge is payable.

If you breach a permit condition we will follow our Enforcement and Prosecution Policy to decide what action to take:

We will give breaches a score using the Compliance Classification Scheme (CCS) depending on their potential environmental impact. The CCS score will impact on your subsistence charge.
