SR2009No2 Low impact Part A installation

These rules allow an operator to use a low impact Part A installation at a specified location, in accordance with the low impact criteria in our Environmental Permitting Regulations application form, at the time the permit application is duly made.

The rules do not permit the acceptance of waste as part of the operation of the installation. 

Applying for a standard permit

You can apply for a standard permit if you can comply with the standard rules and meet the following risk criteria:

  • the activities are not carried out on or immediately adjacent to a European Site, Ramsar Site, Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), National Nature Reserve, Local Nature Reserve or Ancient Woodland; and
  • there is no direct discharge of aqueous waste within 10km upstream of a European Site, Ramsar Site or a SSSI, within 100 metres upstream of a National Nature Reserve, Local Nature Reserve or Ancient Woodland, or within a National Park.

Applying for a bespoke permit

If you cannot comply with any of the standard rules, or meet any one of the criteria listed above, then you must apply for a bespoke permit. Your application must tell us how you meet the conditions for a low impact installation.
