Release 1 of the UCF 

We launched Release 1 of the Unified Charging Framework (UCF) in April 2008. The new Environmental Permitting (EP) charging scheme replacing the former Waste Management Licensing (WML) and Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) schemes has been structured based on the first release of the UCF.

Improved guidance

In April 2009, as we made some technical changes to the EP scheme, we also took the chance to improve the guidance. It is now easier to follow and includes more examples to help charge payers. This can be found on the EP charges page.
