Structures such as mooring piles, slipways and landing stages are called accommodations and require a licence from us.

Licence charges
An annual licence charge runs from 29 September each year.
- For any private structure standing in or projecting over the River Thames or on Environment Agency-owned towpath land:
- For corporate bodies of any kind, including commercial companies, hotels, schools, yacht clubs, youth groups and residents associations:
When ownership changes
New owners must apply for a licence to retain any accommodations which the previous owner has not removed. Licences for existing accommodations cannot be transferred.
