Sandtoft Coarse Fishery receives accessibility improvements

In March 2009 we completed fisheries improvement work at West End Road Lake, a 1 acre stillwater coarse fishery in Sandtoft, North Lincolnshire. The lake was excavated during 2008 and toilet facilities were built, all funded by the owner. We worked with the owner to  install 16 fully accessible angling pegs constructed from recycled plastic.

We also funded an access ramp from the car park to the angling pegs. Our financial contribution to this work was 6,000 GBP. The site owner will be responsible for the future maintenance of the facilities.

The fishery operates a day ticket policy and is currently developing an education program for angling participation events. The management plan for the site aims for it to be a fully accessible venue with classroom facilities.

We’ll be working with the owner to support angling participation events at this new venue, and when fully completed it will provide a unique resource to disabled anglers living in this area.
