High level flood management plans for the Derwent, Ouse, Aire, Calder, Don and Trent.
Starting date: 29 January 2010
Closing date: 23 April 2010
Consultation summary
Catchment Flood Management Plans (CFMPs) help us to understand the factors that contribute to flood risk within a river catchment, both now and in the future. The plans recommend the best ways of managing the risk of flooding within the catchment over the next 50 to 100 years and take into account the predicted effects of climate change.
The CFMPs in this consultation cover a large part of England, including Yorkshire and the East Midlands. They are linked because they all impact on East Yorkshire, with five of the catchments merging around the town of Goole, at the top of the Humber Estuary. The River Calder flows into the River Aire upstream of Goole.

What happens next?
We will review all the comments received and use the responses to finalise the CFMPs. At the end of the consultation we will provide feedback. The completed CFMPs will be published in late summer 2010. This isn’t the end though, CFMPs are living documents and they will be reviewed every five years.
