To help with your searches, this page provides more information about which locations are covered by each Environment Agency region.
If you are not sure which region you are in, we suggest you instead try searching for flood warnings using the name of a town or river, or by using a postcode.
Anglian
This region covers eastern England, stretching from the Humber Estuary to the Thames, and from Northampton all the way to the Norfolk Coast. It includes Cambridge and Peterborough.
Midlands
This covers central England. It extends from the Welsh border over to the Humber in the Northeast and down to the Severn Estuary. The region includes Birmingham, Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Stoke on Trent, Coventry, Shrewsbury, Stratford upon Avon, Worcester and Gloucester as well as the Peak District and the agricultural plains of Shropshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
North East
The North East region extends from the northern tip of Derbyshire right up to the Scottish border and over to the North Sea coast, covering the whole of the Northeast of England. It includes York, Sheffield, Leeds and Newcastle upon Tyne.
North West
The Northwest region stretches from Cheshire in the south to the Scottish border. It includes Merseyside and Greater Manchester, as well as the Lake District.
South East
This region covers London and the south-east counties down to the coast, and includes the entire basin of the River Thames, from its source in Gloucestershire to its estuary in Essex. As well as the capital, the region has several smaller cities and large towns, such as Southampton, Reading, Luton and Swindon, and large rural areas. The region contains most or all of the counties of Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, West and East Sussex, and Kent
South West
This region covers the whole of the Southwest peninsula, including Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire and most of Wiltshire.
Wales
Covers the whole of Wales.
