Working with Spilsby Angling Club, we have recently completed a series of angling access improvements at Partney Brick Pit, near Spilsby. The picturesque 150 year old 1.2 acre still water has always been a popular venue for the club who run regular matches at the site. However, the original poorly designed angling platforms were old and unsafe for club members who approached us for help and advice.
During our meetings with the club a potential shortfall in the numbers of juniors was identified. We agreed that 15 new purpose built angling platforms to provide a safe and stable point from which to fish. The platforms made from recycled plastic will be used to host the usual regular club matches and also to promote the sport of angling to young people.
Events are planned for summer 2009 to assist in securing the long-term future of the club through the encouragement and recruitment of young anglers into the sport.
