Reel fishing for FREE in our Region

This August, in conjunction with a number of local authorities we are hosting a number of FREE angling events. The whole family will have the chance to learn and improve their fishing skills during these days which are being held at the following locations:-

 Saturday  1 August   Mouldon Hill, Swindon
 Wednesday  12 August  Rye Dyke, High Wycombe
 Tuesday and Wednesday   18-19 August  Beale Park, Pangbourne
 Wednesday  26 August  Ladygrove Lake, Didcot
 Saturday  29 August  Coate Water Country Park, Swindon

The events offer the chance to have a go at angling! One-to-one tuition with friendly, qualified angling coaches.  Ideal for complete beginners or new anglers hoping to improve their skills. 

You can also try your hand at pond-dipping to learn about the fish and bugs which live in our lakes and rivers, and “golden rules” for responsible anglers.

Equipment, rod licences and bait will be provided, and everybody taking part will be given a selection of free fishing goodies.

Tom Sherwood, a fisheries officer said: “We are committed to supporting events such as this and to promote angling in general.  By giving people a chance to become involved in angling we are providing the opportunity to get closer to nature.  Angling can be a hobby for life, which can be enjoyed for half-an-hour at a time or a full day and is just plain good fun.”
