Events on or near to the River Medway

Raft Race - one of the highlights of Yalding's year is the annual two and a half mile raft race from East Peckham Lock to the Anchor Inn at Yalding which takes place on the first Sunday in June. This often, chaotic affair is enjoyed by participants and spectators alike and also raises a sizeable sum for charity.

Cobtree Museum of Kent Life - the museum has a small farm with country crafts demonstrated onsite and is one of the last places left in the country where crops are grown and prepared in the traditional country way. The museum holds many events and this year's line up includes an Easter Chicken Hunt, Family Fun Weekend, Vintage Vehicle Day and the no doubt popular Maidstone Beer Festival. Cobtree Museum of Kent Life

The Hop Farm Country Park - once a working hop farm the park now offers children's play areas, go-karts, interactive museums and animal encounters as well as one of the world's largest collections of oast houses. The park acts as the venue for a variety of events all year round. This year's include a Wild West Extravaganza, the Mid Kent Boat Jumble and a Hop Festival.
