Shuttering

Shuttering or formwork involves the construction of a mould out of timber or metal into which concrete is poured. This structure holds the concrete in shape until it has cured. Once it is no longer required, it is removed leaving behind the concrete structure. Mould release oils are used to make sure that the mould parts company with the concrete when its job is done.
