UKAS Accreditation
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services. Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates the competence, impartiality and performance capability of these evaluators.
All NLS laboratories are accredited to ISO 17025 by UKAS.
MCerts Certification
MCerts is the Environment Agency Monitoring Certification Scheme. We are accredited by UKAS to the MCerts performance standard for the chemical testing of both soil and wastewaters at our laboratories in Leeds, Nottingham and Starcross (Devon).
ISO 14001 Certification
ISO 14001 is the International Standard which "specifies requirements for an environmental management system" and looks at what an organisation does to manage the impact on the environment caused by its activities and services. It requires a commitment to comply with relevant environmental legislation, prevent pollution and show continuous improvement in environmental performance. All NLS sites are covered by ISO 14001 certification.
EMAS Eco Audit
EMAS is recognised as best practice in environmental management systems. It has ISO 14001 at the core, plus some additional requirements. All NLS sites are covered by our EMAS certification.
Investors in People
The Investors in People Standard is a framework of good practice and covers staff at all NLS sites.
