Notices of licence applications

Notices of applications for licences to abstract or impound water are advertised here and in local newspapers (unless a publishing exemption or dispensation applies).

We advertise applications which people should be aware of, and we invite representation on them.

Notices are published here for 28 days (first day, 10am - last day, 12pm).

Your representation can be made in writing, or via email, to the Environment Agency office listed in the notice.

Each notice details how to make representations and the closing date for making them.

NB: Notices for abstraction or impounding licences are no longer placed in the London Gazette. Press notices for drought orders, drought permits and discharges still require advertising in the London Gazette.
