Fisheries management, conservation and wildlife

Fisheries management has the potential to provide many practical conservation benefits. Most fisheries have some conservation value and this can be increased, both for fishing and wildlife, through simple management of habitats, fish stocks and the activities of the anglers themselves.

These pages, which are aimed at fisheries managers and others with an interest in balancing fisheries and wildlife interests, provide notes and guidance, much of which is taken from existing Environment Agency and partner organisation publications. These publications (which will have a reference in the text) should be available on request from our National Customer Contact Centre (0370 8506506).
