Catchment Flood Management Plan Annual Report - frequently asked questions

Answers to frequently asked questions about the Catchment Flood Management Plan (CFMP) Annual Report 2011.

Why have we produced this Annual Report?

We are monitoring the status of the proposed actions from the Catchment Flood Management Plans. We are progressing more than half of the actions from the CFMPs and we want to share this good progress with partners, other bodies and the public. We want to encourage continued partnership working in a way that is co-ordinated across catchments.

Why have some actions not been progressed as planned in the CFMP?

Many of the CFMP actions need different partners to work together, as well as the public, before the action can be progressed. This can take time, and we want to ensure those involved share a common view of flood risk and priorities across catchments. The actions currently underway reflect this.

Why have there been changes to the actions proposed the CFMP?

When new information becomes available, we work with our partners to review how we manage flood risk. Sometimes this means we need to make changes to the actions proposed in the  CFMPs. When we make changes to the actions in a CFMP, we are as open as possible, explaining why we have made these changes, and agreeing them with those involved.

Where can I find out more about progress on the CFMP for where I live?
