How we deal with land contamination

Information on the Environment Agencys' role in dealing with land contamination.

The responsibility for dealing with land affected by contamination rests with those who caused it, the owner or occupier of the land or in some cases the person redeveloping it. 

Along with the local authority, we also have specific roles where regulatory regimes apply.
